About the Founder MMA Healthcare Recruitment (MMA) was founded by Melinda Moolman. Melinda grew up in a small fishing village in South Africa and when her grandmother sadly developed cancer, Melinda spent many hours at her bedside and was immensely impressed by the compassion and dedication of the nurses who tended to her. It was at this time that she knew that her vocation was to become a nurse and to help people.
Years of hard study followed by qualifying as nurse was one of the proudest moments in her life. A yearning for travel and the support of her now husband, Werner Du Preez resulted in Melinda securing a job in the UK. Arriving at Heathrow airport in a strange country, not knowing anyone and with no support offered by the hospital was very unsettling and difficult but it was this experience which inspired her to start MMA. About the Company MMA specialises in the recruit-ment of registered nurses and healthcare professionals, mainly for the United Kingdom and Ireland but they also place candidates in New Zealand, Australia and the Middle East. They source highly trained, experienced and moti-vated medical professionals worldwide and match them with specially selected clients. From its initial set up 1998, MMA Recruitment has now grown from its original UK base to have associ-ate offices in Romania, Portugal, Spain, South Africa, In-dia, and the Philippines.
During the last five years, MMA has focused on larger recruitment projects to meet the growing demand for qualified, dependable and specialised staff in hospitals. They have planned and executed very successful recruit-ment drives for large healthcare groups. Their quality-driven processes and proven procedures ensure that they deliver candidates of the highest standards. MMA is approved by the Department of Health UK as an ethical recruitment agency, they are licensed as a nurse agency, hold an ISO 9001 certificate and all their directors are clinically qualified.
In addition to the recruitment process MMA offers a comprehen-sive support package for their candidates embarking on working in another country.
Over the last 15 years MMA have helped many overseas nurses relo-cate to the UK, arranging for them to be met at the airport, easing them through the stages of culture adjustment, introducing them to other overseas nurses for support and generally being an all-important point of contact and advice for them.
While doing what we love and pro-viding a valuable service, MMA has grown as a business and employ over 20 staff. We are plan-ning to open offices in Ireland, Caribbean and Botswana while expanding our UK team to make sure we maintains the quality of our service
